The Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSci) degree is aimed at students who wish to make a career in a Business Enterprise. It is similar to the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, however it is a four year Honours level stream that covers a broader spectrum of business-related topics. Additionally, all Business Science degrees require the student to take a full first-year mathematics course.
Currently, a student reading the Business Science degree will be able to specialise in the following subjects:
- Accounting
- Actuarial science
- Quantative finance
- Finance
- Computer science
- Information systems
- Economics
- Law
- Marketing
- Organizational psychology
- Quantitative management
[edit] Institutions known to offer the BBusSci degree
In South Africa, the University of Cape Town (UCT) has offered the BBusSci degree in addition to the more widely-known Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) since 1968[1]. Detailed information about UCT's degree can be obtained from the Department of Management Studies website. The University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) is another university in South Africa that also[2] offers the Business Science degree.
