We know a little about Bački Gračac. Where is the Historians version of the History of Bački Gračac. According to the DVHH website [1]

It has had many names. Though today it is called by its new OFFICIAL name Backi Gracac, Serbia. the original and other names being.

And we know from Johns Feldenzer Palanka site [2] Source: MAGYARORSZÁG VÁRMEGYÉ VÁROSI, edited by BOROVSZKY SAMU DR. 1909 Translation by: Lajos Reich

that in the beggining it was reffered to it's earliest name Filipova in a document written in the age of King 3rd Bela. (1173 - 1196)

And in In 1652 there were 7 houses, and a monestery. By 1763 the Germans began populating the area. By 1764 20 houses were built and soon a total of 60 houses we built with a population of 75 German Families and by 1801 there were 272 houses. In the beginning of the 1900's there were 535 houses.

According to other sources During WW2 all or most the Germans were forced to leave or we killed.

Now what was life like back in he 1800's in todays Bački Gračac? WHat was the name of the church? Did they just have one church? What was the trip like down the Danube for the Germans, Did they like there new Diggs? Who ran the town? What crops did they grow? Anything of any interest happen in Filipowa? WHat happened to the Church who fixes the Organ?
