[edit] Splitting of Republic of China

I would like to know what you think about my proposal to split the ROC article into a pre and post-1949 article (pre-1949 materials will go into a page titled Republic of China (1912)). I conditionally concur, on grounds of available information on the ROC pre- and post-1949. Fr.Wikipedia.org kept pre-1949 stuff in the original Article fr:République de Chine and moved later material to fr:République de Chine (Taiwan), an alternate approach to your proposal. An alternate approach would be the concentration of post-1949 material in a new Article Republic of China (Taiwan), with the pre-1949 (incl. the government structure under the Zūn Zhōngshān and Jiǎng Jièshí Administrations) data kept at the existing Republic of China Article. Recommend redirect Chinese Taipei, used without international diplomatic circles, to the post-1949 Article. B. C. Schmerker (talk) 07:34, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
