B. B. Mann

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

B.B Mann was a Welsh international rugby union footballer.

B.B. Mann was vice captain of Cardiff RFC in the 1880/81 season and played for Wales in the first ever Welsh international team[1] which was heavily defeated by England in the year 1881 at Blackheath.[2] It is recorded that Mann was injured after just ten minutes of this match and eventually had to leave the field.[3] This was his one and only international appearance.[4]

Although a part of Welsh rugby history, very little is known about B.B. Mann; there is no record of his birth or death, life or family. There is a photograph of him in the 1881 team photo.[5]
