This page will be expanded with references as I can locate them. Currently I have close to 1000 pages of genealogy to search though and refence.
For anyone who is unsure of the validity of the webpage I can assure you that it is 100% accurate. No-one was added to the tree without specific documented proof e.g. Definate link to mother/father, birthplace etc.
A reference I intend to cite is the Northamptonshire county records office. Unfortunately I cannot currently visit there. Questions are welcomed and I will do my best to answer them.

- I have no doubt that there is proof of your family line going back generations. I have similar proof, and I suspect so do hundreds of thousands if not millions of other surnames in the United States and Europe, but you'll notice that there are very few pages for surnames on Wikipedia, and most of the ones I've seen are just disambiguation pages for people with that last name. In other words, its a lofty task to try to prove that this surname deserves an article. The place to start is to list any reliable sources that we can use to determine if this surname is sufficiently notable to be listed here. The place to start is to list any reliable third party sources that have written non-trivial coverage of the name. That can be either a scholarly dissertation about the name, or multiple media reports that cover the family name itself (and not just list people in the family). An alternate solution might be to turn this page into a disambiguation page, and list the notable members of the family along with a short paragraph about the origin of the name (assuming, of course, it can be verified). But those are all details, and I think that they will work themselves out when we get the sources. Good luck. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 06:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
