[edit] External links
A certain number of frequently used sites have their own templates for the external link:
| Template | Link |
|---|---|
| {{ecb}} | European Chemicals Bureau |
| {{nist}} | NIST Chemistry WebBook |
| {{ICSC|xxyy|xx}} | International Chemical Safety Card xxyy |
| {{inrs}} | Institut national de recherche et de sécurité ({{{year}}}). "{{{title}}}."PDF Fiche toxicologique n° {{{number}}}. Paris:INRS. (French) |
| {{PubChemLink|xxx}} | CID xxx from PubChem |
| {{SDBS}} | SDBS spectral database |
| {{webelements}} | WebElements |
[edit] Arrows
The right arrow → and the equilibrium sign ⇌ are available from the codes → and {{unicode|⇌}} respectively. The use of the {{unicode}} template is recommended for ⇌ because of a bug in some versions of Internet Explorer. The equivalent left-facing signs are ← (←) and ⇋ ({{unicode|⇋}}).
The double-headed arrow ↔ for canonical forms is available from the code ↔.
[edit] Other symbols
- °C degrees centigrade
The center dot for hydrates etc. is available from the code ·.
- The minus sign (longer than a normal hyphen) is available form the code
−but does not reproduce well on some versions of Internet Explorer. - The multiplication sign × (e.g. for powers of ten) is available from the code
×. - The symbols for Planck's constant, ℎ and ℏ, are available from the codes {{unicode|ℎ}} and {{unicode|ℏ}}: the use of the {{unicode}} template is recommended because of a bug in some versions of Internet Explorer.
- [[Å]] for angstrom
[edit] references
<ref>{{cite journal | title = | author = | journal = | year = | volume = | issue = | pages = | doi = }}</ref>
[edit] Formatting ISBN and DOI
- simply typing ISBN 3-540-60521-5 produces the special reference display ISBN 3-540-60521-5
- {{doi|10.1021/cm020249a}} shows a linkable DOI
long doi ( e.g. Zeitschrift anorg und allgem chemie) need to turn < into %3C and > into %3E
[edit] Chemical Infoboxes
copy in {{subst:chembox subst small}} without the nowikis and save to create small version of {{chembox new)) in the article.

{|class="wikitable"
|-
! Header 1 !! Header 2 !! Header 3
|-
| A1 || B1 || C1

gives:
