[edit] About "The Best of Butters and Cartman"

That's obviously a joke.

[edit] Plot discussion

According to transcripts [1]:

  1. Cartman was already rescued after Butters pleaded to the military, though the military still regarded him as a robot having "consciousness". So in the end he got his identity revealed by Butters but that's not a rescue.
  2. Butters also invited the movie producers to the tape release.
  3. The officer telling Cartman "you're a little faggot" is a general.

[edit] AWESOM-O = ASIMO?

Even though I doubt we could find a source short of Trey and Matt, but is it conceivible that the title, and thus the name Cartman gives himself, is a play on ASIMO? They're pronounced, for all intents and purposes, the same. Ok as of the end of that sentence, I hadn't looked thoroughly at the ASIMO article, which references this episode. If there are no objections, I'll put it...somewhere in the article. --MPD T / C 12:38, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Until we do find a source saying that they Awesemo is a reference to the car, then we can't add it in lest it be OR. Our best bet is to wait until it comes out on DVD, then listen to the Audio commentary - otherwise we are just assuming that's what it means. Personally, I didn't know that it was a reference to the car, I just thought it was a name (with "Awesome" in there, it sounds like something Cartman would say, and the "O" on the end was just there, I thought, to make it sound like something to do with technology). After all, Cartman isn't pretending to be a car, he's pretending to be a robot.
Erm... how do I say this... ASIMO is a robot.Lukesed 03:38, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What tragic event in hawaii?

Thats a joke rigth? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.140.0.154 (talk • contribs)

I presume so, it is Matt Stone and Trey Parker we are talking about here. ≈ The Haunted Angel 22:46, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Look under "Production": "The crew had to go to Hawaii for a friend's wedding, which pushed back the production of this episode." Prezuiwf 17:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Butters' previous overseas donation?

Currently in the "References to other South Park episodes", it says: "Butters also donated money overseas in 'Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants.'" Is there something in the episode that specifically refers to this? I admit it's been a while since I have seen that episode, and I will correct myself after I had chance to see it again, but unless there is something in "AWESOM-O" that specifically refers to the donation to Afghanistan kids, we should not mention it in the Wikipedia article---as I recall, the whole 4th-grade class had to donate a dollar, and Butters donating a dollar isn't any more significant than, oh, Dog Poo donating a dollar. novakyu (talk) 08:37, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I just saw the Afghanistan episode again, and it's even worse---in the donation scene, Butters isn't even in the class. So, I deleted the incorrect sentence. novakyu (talk) 12:23, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cultural refs

The entire cultural refs section seems to be crammed full of assumptions and, for lack of a better phrase, need for citations. Lots42 (talk) 12:36, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion

If we are going to have the picture we have, shouldn't there be a bit about how it came about? It's very odd that Cartman would be asked by Butter's parents, insane as they are, to do that. Lots42 (talk) 11:48, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
