This article previously stated the Avoca River in Canterbury is a minor tributary of the Waimakariri River. I searched Google and looked on my map of the South Island, and the only information I could find about an Avoca River in Canterbury is about the one that flows via the Harper and Wilberforce Rivers to the Rakaia River. Thus, I changed the article to reflect this. There may very well be an Avoca River that flows into the Waimakariri - I just couldn't find evidence for it, and I wouldn't expect two rivers so close together to share the same name. If I'm wrong, please edit the article appropriately. - Axver 10:34, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
