AvoDerm is a line of natural food for dogs and cats manufactured by Breeder's Choice, Inc. of Irwindale, California and founded by Harold Taylor in 1947.
AvoDerm was created in 1982 as a special dog food for curing skin and coat problems and uses avocado meal as one of the select ingredients in 8 different formulas stating they have Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Vitamin C in abundance and are high in folate, potassium, niacin, and fatty acids. [1] The food is also free of chemical or artificial preservatives such as Ethoxyquin, BHA, and BHT.

Key ingredients in AvoDerm foods are the meats of chicken and lamb. Other ingredients are ground whole brown rice, ground whole rice, oatmeal, rice bran, flaxseed, dried alfalfa meal, avocado oil, herring meal, rosemary extract, sage extract, bromelain, papain, dried kelp, and canola oil. The company avoids the use of beef, corn, and wheat as do many other holistic or natural food manufacturers.
AvoDerm offers a vegetarian dog food.
