Avni Mula

Avni Mula (born on 1928 in Đakovica, in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes – today in Kosovo) is a famous Albanian singer, composer and musician.

He subsequently moved to Shkodër and later to Tirana. Mula has won many prizes over his career as a composer and singer in the Albanian Festivali I Këngës Në RTSH which is held yearly year in Tirana.

One of his most famous songs is "Nënë Moj Do Pres Gërshetin", which won first prize in the Festival of 1976, sung by Vaçe Zela. He also won first prize in with "Një Djep Në Barrikadë", sung by Marina Grabovari in 1982.

In 1998, Mula, head of the jury of the festival, declared "Albërie Hadërgjonaj - Mirësia Dhe e Vërteta" the winner, making Albërie the first Kosovar-Albanian singer to ever win Festivali i Këngës.

Avni Mula currently lives in Tirana, Albania.

He is father of the famous Albanian international soprano Inva Mula.
