Avenue U is a station on the BMT Brighton Line of the New York City Subway, located at Avenue U between East 15th and East 16th Streets in Homecrest, Brooklyn.
This local station, situated on an elevated embankment, has four tracks and two side platforms. There is a mezzanine at the north end, and until the late 1980s, there was a second booth inside the mezzanine, across from the current, full-time booth. The southbound platform has a closed staircase at the south end and an exit-only turnstile, which replaced an older, manned exit gate, facing directly at the double-width staircase.
