[edit] Removal?

"In 2005, rumors circulated that Disney was planning on developing an overlay that would tie in with the Pixar film, Cars, which would require the ride going down sometime in 2006. However, Disney officials have not confirmed this. It has also been rumored that in 2006 the Autopia cars will be replaced with ones powered by fuel cells." This seems to be contrary to the truth at this point. Unless Disney is planning a completely sporadic refurb/overlay on the ride within the next thirty days, I highly doubt it is going to happen. Anyone agree that this should be removed? --Shinku Hisaki 05:41, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tokyo Disneyland

"At Tokyo Disneyland, the ride doesn't exist as Grand Circuit Raceway anymore. This version of the ride has remained open since the park's opening in 1983 and remained largely unchanged. It was a ride that couldn't keep up with the fastly growing and changing technology in Japan. We asked some of the children about the ride closing down and they replied with that it was just old news to them it couldn't keep up. The Tokyo Disneyland-version is sponsored by Bridgestone and features a grandstand for visitors to watch the "races" between drivers. The track is described as a "figure eight" shape."

The ride as of today is called "Grand Circuit Raceway." Is it closing down? It was open last weekend. Here's the official page for the attraction: http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdl/english/7land/tomorrow/atrc_grand.html [2007-01-22] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.216.103.44 (talk) 14:19, 22 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Description?

This article doesn't contain an actual description of the ride itself, making the article less useful than it should be for people who haven't ridden the ride. Could someone add a description? In particular, what can riders do? Do they have any control over the cars, or is it a passive ride? --Elysdir (talk) 09:00, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

My thought exactly. Did the article once have a description that was erased by a vandal and never reinstated? --Tysto (talk) 08:40, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I just noticed it too. If I knew more about the ride I'd contribute to the article. --Fez2005 (talk) 05:31, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Great point, let me fish (or is that phish) around in the history and see if I can get something back -- else, I'll write something new. Tiggerjay (talk) 18:34, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
