To say that It was the first time since Bava Beccaris that the police forces used such violent means in order to repress a demonstration in Italy is total, utter idiocy.

Ever heard of the "Morti di Reggio Emilia" (1960), of the dead workers at Avola, Battipaglia (1968), of the land occupations by farmers in the late '40s and '50s (tens of dead) of the clashes after the murder attempt against Togliatti in July 1948 - tens of dead communist demonstrators in clashes with the police in Naples, Genua, Leghorn, Taranto etc etc etc (Giordaano)
