Autrey Mill Middle School is a public middle school in Johns Creek, Fulton County, Georgia. Its mascot is a lion. The school serves more than 1,200 students, and is part of the Chattahoochee Cluster. A split-feed school, students feed into either Northview or Chattahoochee High School depending on where the student lives.
Autrey Mill opened its doors in 2003, under the direction of principal Dr. Ann Ferrell. In the January 2007 issue of Atlanta Magazine, the school was named Best Middle School. In June of 2006, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution named it one of the Top 10 Public Middle Schools in Georgia. The school has been particularly noted for having won the PAGE Academic Bowl state championship in 2006 in only its [Autrey Mill's] third year of existence. Its academic bowl team and sports teams have consistently been among the strongest in the region.
Each grade level is divided into "teams", which all fit under a theme depending on the grade. The sixth grade teams are, respectably, the Aviators, Explorers, Voyagers and Navigators. Seventh grade teams are the Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Volcanoes and Blizzards. Eighth grade teams are Kalahari, Kamau, Farasi and Masai.
