[edit] History

AUDL is the sixteenth and newest league in the Urban Debate Network. In 2004 the league had an initial roster of fourteen high schools, located in the Austin Independent School District and neighboring districts of Del Valle and San Marcos, with former educator Michael Cunningham taking the director posistion.

AUDL has garnered school system administrative support at the state, district, and local school level. Principals have expressed written and verbal commitment to the League. And school districts (Austin and neighboring) are supporting the League with classes and some funding, and both Texas State University and the University of Texas debate programs have partnered with AUDL as well.
