August Capital is a private venture capital firm with offices on Menlo Park, California's famous Sand Hill Road. It has backed such companies as ATC-Onlane, Tumbleweed Communications, PayCycle, Seagate, Splunk, Six Apart, PacketTrap, VideoEgg, Evite, and Westbridge Technology.
The investment professionals are: David Hornik, John Johnston, David Marquardt, Vivek Mehra, and Andrew S. Rappaport. Investments made by these partners before the founding of August Capital include: Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Adaptec, and Grand Junction Networks (acquired by Cisco).
Entrepreneurs supported by August Capital include: Michael Baum (Splunk), Kerry Champion (Westbridge), Steve Goodman (PacketTrap), René Lacerte (PayCycle), and Jeff Smith (Tumbleweed).
