Audrey Puente

Audrey Puente (born in 1970) is a Puerto Rican American meteorologist for WWOR-TV (MY 9) in New York City. She is the daughter of legendary Latin percussionist Tito Puente. She also periodically fills in for Dave Price on CBS's The Early Show when price vacations. Puente replaced ten year WWOR meteorologist Storm Field in January 2007 as the newest full time weatherperson. She joined Vanessa Alfano and John Krasting in the weather center for My9 News.

She previously provided weather forecasts for CBS' Channel 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News at Noon. On January 1, 2007 CBS hired John Elliott to take her position. Before WCBS-TV she worked as the weekend morning meteorologist for WNBC (NBC 4) since 1999. In the mid 1990s, she was a meteorologist at WJCL and WTGS television in Savannah, Georgia.

She celebrated her 30th birthday at a club on March 2, 2000.[1] She wed Jay Thompson on September 18, 2004.[2]

Her first child, a daughter, is named Santana. In the spring of 2007 she was very visibly expecting her second child. She left on maternity leave mid-May. On June 8th of that year she gave birth to a son, Mateo Jay Thompson, who weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces.[3] Puente returned to WWOR on July 23, 2007.
