Atlantic University is an institution of higher education in Virginia Beach, Virginia, associated with the Edgar Cayce organization, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE).
AU was founded in 1930, folded two years later due to the Great Depression, and was re-started in 1985. It offers M.A. degrees in "Transpersonal Studies" through a distance learning program. Course offerings include transpersonal psychology, alternative healing, dream interpretation, and readings in the works of Edgar Cayce.
The school is licensed by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC).
