Atherosperma moschatum (Southern Sassafras, Black Sassafras) is an evergreen tree native to the cool temperate rainforests of Tasmania, Victoria, and eastern New South Wales, Australia. The northenmost area is in Barrington Tops.

A. moschatum can grow to a height of 30 m. Leaves are 3-10 cm long and 8–25 mm wide, margins are coarsely toothed, but the northern population in Barrington Tops area has mostly entire leaves.
