From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Parc Astrid (French) or Astridpark (Dutch) is an urban public park in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium, inaugurated on August 13, 1911. It was named Parc du Meir/Meirpark until the mayor of Anderlecht decided to change the name in memory of Astrid of Sweden in 1935 who died in a tragic car accident that year. Since 1917, football club R.S.C. Anderlecht plays its home matches in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, within the park. Besides, that stadium is sometimes referred to as Parc Astrid. It has a hotel with 228 Guest rooms, 56 Executive rooms, 151 Superior rooms, 21 Suites (18 business suites, 2 deluxe suites and 1 presidential suite), 3 Guest rooms adapted for the physically challenged, 98 Non-smoking rooms.
