Acer aspire One is a recently announced Netbook. It will run Windows XP Home edition and Linpus Linux[1]. Released in response to the popular Asus EEE. The Linux model of the Acer Aspire One will have an 8 GB Solid-state drive while the more expensive Windows XP version will have an 80 GB 2.5" HDD. The Linux version is due for release on the 2nd July[2] while the Windows version will be available later that month. All models of the Acer Aspire One will have the new Intel Atom processor. It will be a very strong contender with the market leading ASUS Eee PC as the ASUS Eee PC 900 pricing starts at $549USD while the Acer Aspire One is noticeably cheaper at $379USD.
