Ask Foy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ask Foy, or the Foy Information Line, is a telephone and walk-in information service provided by Auburn University and hosted in the Foy Student Union. The service has been in continuous operation, twenty-four hours a day, since the 1950s.[1] The Ask Foy service was initially designed as a resource for Auburn students, who were looking for course information, grades, or campus services, but now accepts calls from the general public.[1] The operators are Auburn University students, and the free service attempts to answer any questions asked by a caller or visitor.[2] Although other universities in the United States offer similar services, such as the Fact Line at Bowling Green State University, Auburn's Ask Foy service is one of the busiest, receiving around 1000 calls each day.[3]
The service was featured on the Today Show on November 27, 2007.[1]
