Ashwin Rao is a physician working in Seattle, Washington. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he spent his early childhood and teen years. He attended grade school and high school at Lake Ridge Academy, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. He subsequently pursued an undergraduate eduation at Swarthmore College, in Swarthmore, PA, where he received distinction, graduating with honors in the Biochemistry. While there, he became involved in student government, where he as a chairman of the college's student council. He went on to become co-president of his class. His next academic venture involved travelling back to Cleveland to attend medical school at Case Western Reserve University. He ultimately decided to pursue the field of family medicine. He travelled to Seattle to pursue family medicine residency training at the University of Washington, which he completed in June of 2006.
