The Asheville Orioles are a former minor league baseball team based in Asheville, North Carolina. The team was named for its major league affiliate, the Baltimore Orioles, and played for four seasons from 1972 to 1975 in the Double-A Southern League. During the first three years of play, the team was managed by Cal Ripken Sr..
