Ashdown House, East Sussex

Ashdown House is an all-boarding mixed preparatory school in Forest Row, East Sussex. There are 169 pupils aged 7 to 13, 110 boys, 59 girls. Ashdown House was originally an 18th century country house, completed by Benjamin Latrobe who was the architect for the White House in Washington DC. It was built in 1794, the year before he emigrated to America. Latrobe also built Hammerwood Park, just over the hill and the Capitol in Washington as well.
