[edit] Summary

This image was taken during the Apollo 17 mapping metric sequence, revolution #2. The selenographic coordinates of this image are 20.20° N, 46.30° E.

The prominent crater just to the upper right of center is Macrobius. The smaller crater to the right of Macrobius is Tisserand. The larger of the two bowl-shaped craters near the left edge is Carmichael, and the smaller crater to the north of Carmichael is Hill. The irregular mare system in the upper part of the image is Lacus Bonitatis. In the lower right quadrant is Proclus crater.

This picture was produced by reducing a Hi-res image to 25% of full size, then rotating 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge. The right 25% of the original image was cropped to remove the blurred view of the instrument overlaying the picture.
