Arvind S. Nadkarni (1931-2008) was born in Bankikkodla , a little village in coastal Uttar Kannada, which is the most picturesque part of the west coast where the Sahyadri Mountains hug the Arabian Sea. Literature, folk art, spiritual lore, music and sports kept him enthralled during his school days. He was a paternal cousin brother of Mangesh V. Nadkarni and Sundar Nadkarni

Arvind graduated from Anandashram High School, Bankikodla in the year 1946-47 the first batch of S. S. C the high school diploma. His former high school teachers Subbanna Ekkundi and Gourish Kaikini influenced him. He completed college education in Mumbai. Arvind Nadkarni was an Entrepreneur working in Mumbai. He died on May 20th, 2008 in Andheri.

Arvind acted as a President of the Kannada Savitya Sammelana held in Madikeri, Coorg.
He was awarded Sahitya Akademi Karnataka State award for his work "Atma Bharath".
