Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Porch collapse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some of the porch collapses discussed in the article, plus many other similar events can be found by Googling or otherwise searching "deck collapse." Porch collapse gets 11,600 Google hits, while "deck collapse" gets another 866. People are more likely to describe a newly constructed outdoor wooden platform as a deck than as a porch, and the use of ledger boards, nailing versus bolting them to the structure, joist hangers versus toenailing or nailing into the end of the joist, problems with rotting and faulty design, and overloading leading to collapse are similar. I suggest the article be renamed Porch and deck collapse. Edison 00:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
