Further discussion on inclussion of "Gaymer" as an appropriate article. The term is a simple way of describing a particular subset/minority within a group or to describe those that fall under the intersection of two subsetting groups. It is no different than "Dead Head" to describe a specific type of Greatful Dead fan, or "Trekkie" to denote a certain level of commitment to the Star Trek mythos, or "(specific ethnicity denoted)-American" to lay specific claim to two unique groups as their inclusion into both does not violate, lessen, negate, or confuse the very being, meaning, or intention of the other.
