[edit] Hokuto Shinken
Subject lacks real world notability and cannot pass the secondary source requirement of WP:FICT. Also is solely in universe plot information (failing WP:NOT#PLOT) Pilotbob 05:42, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Keep - Hokuto Shinken is a central fighting style in the series. Not only that, it has been parodied in numerous Japanese fiction (such as Urusei Yatsura and Great Teacher Onizuka to name a couple), so it has some notability. Just because the series is not well known to English speaking anime and manga fans doesn't mean the series is not notable in Japan. While I agree the article needs some cleanup, an AFD is not a solution. Jonny2x4 20:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

- If it has been parodied, then that needs to be added to the article and sourced. (Wasn't it also parodied in Bobobo-bo Bobobo, or however you spell it?) Which would be enough to demonstrate out-of-universe notability. If this is done before the AfD expires, keep; otherwise, merge into either List of fighting styles in Fist of the North Star or, if that doesn't survive its AfD, into Fist of the North Star. —Quasirandom 00:38, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Bobobo is pretty much a parody of Fist of the North Star, with Hanaga Shinken (Super Fist of the Nose Hair) being a spoof of Hokuto Shinken (God Fist of the North Star). Hokuto Shinken's influences in other works is apparent and the fact that Pilotbob declares it to have no real world notability shows a bit of ignorance from his part with all due respect. Its almost as if he made all of these AFDs using some kind of generator. Jonny2x4 02:12, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Send it back to the copyeditor. The article clearly needs someone with a cleaver to cut out the overly detailed plot details and then rewrite the rest of the article from an out-of-universe perspective. The article should focus more on its influences on other series when such influences are well documented. Or perhaps that aspect should be merged into the main article instead and the rest of this article deleted. --Farix (Talk) 03:29, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Redirect to List of fighting styles in Fist of the North Star. I've voted keep on that article's AfD page specifically because its various child articles should be merged into it. That article already has sufficient detail about this fictional style. -Harmil 21:30, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
