Cautions
Now that you are writing your article, there are a few things that you have to make sure of:
- The article is written from a neutral point of view
- All facts are verifiable
- If the page is about a living person, all facts must be supported with references in the article.
- The article is made up only of facts reported elsewhere and contains no original research
- Writing about yourself or people you know personally is strongly discouraged.
Tips
The toolbar above the edit window and the character table below have many helpful things on them.
- If your article is short, leave the
{{stub}}on the article or replace it with a more specific stub tag from these lists. - Place your article into categories by adding the code
[[Category:CategoryName]], replacing CategoryName with a category relevent to the topic- Look at articles about similar topics to get category and stub tag suggestions.
- You may want to use citation templates to format your references.
- You can also use inline citation as opposed to a list of references, but this is optional. See Wikipedia:Footnotes for more information.
- Use the "Show preview" button to see what your article will look like before saving
Note: Make sure to remove the hidden comments enclosed in <!-- --> before saving.
