Someone changed the article to say that his master's degree is in architecture. I changed it back to mathematics; see http://www.artgarfunkel.com/bio.html.

Don't forget his stint in jail. Stormwriter

He hasn't been in jail. If he is convicted three times for possession he could be sentenced to 15 days in Jail. Preaky 03:56, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dead link

This sentence appears in the article: "Art Garfunkel's website contains a year by year listing of every book he has read since 1968." The word "website" is a hotlink that is dead. Rich 21:00, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Fixed. Was easy to find on his website. No Guru 21:28, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life

Do we know anything about this? Relationships? Marriages? Children? JackofOz 08:41, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

He married once, which ended in a divorce that affected Garfunkel for awhile. He was later involved with a relationship with a Laruie Bird, if I recall right. Unfortunately, the woman later committed suicide. Garfunkel would ultimately marry a woman known as Kim (whose maiden name eludes me). They have one son born 1990, a James Garfunkel, who supposedly has a singing voice quite similar to his father's.--CBG

[edit] Does anybody have a cite for this, or is it just rumor?

I'd heard/read that Paul Simon had fallen in love with Art Garfunkel's voice and specifically wrote music for Art to sing.

[edit] Um, what instruments?

I'm just wondering why a page on a well-known musician doesn't mention what instruments he plays. I assume he gets vocal and guitar credits on most of his songs, but what else? And I shouldn't have to assume even that - this article should mention it explicitly. Thanks.
