Artist cooperatives are defined as autonomous visual arts organizations, enterprises, or associations jointly-owned and democratically-controlled by and for the benefit of its members. Artist cooperatives may be incorporated as either for-profit or non-profit organizations and typically provide professional services and spaces for its artist-members, including workshops, artist studios, exhibition galleries, and educational facilities.
