Arto Saari

Arto Saari (born November 9, 1981 in Seinäjoki, Finland) is a professional skateboarder. He lives in Huntington Beach, California. He was selected as the "2001 Skater of the Year" by Thrasher magazine and is considered one of the best street skaters in the world. His skating stance is regular.

He has had several major injuries during his career. He almost died from head injuries whilst filming the Flip movie Sorry. These were sustained after he was warming up with a backside feeble on a handrail.

Finnish skateboarders voted Arto Saari to the list of 100 Greatest Finns in a vote held during the summer of 2004 by the Finnish Broadcasting Company. Arto Saari reached 26 in the list. However, Saari is almost unnoticed in Finnish mainstream media. Today, Arto Saari is sponsored by Alien Workshop, Gravis Footwear, Analog Clothing, Ricta Skateboard Wheels, CCS, and Fury Trucks. Former sponsors included, Flip Skateboards, es footwear, Quiksilver, and Etnies Shoes.

Arto also appeared as a playable character in the video games Tony Hawk's Underground and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground.
