Artis Hicks (born November 28, 1978 in Jackson, Tennessee) in an American football player who currently plays offensive guard for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. He played college football at the University of Memphis.
Hicks signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in April of 2002 as an un-drafted free agent. He made the active roster for the entire 2002 season. In 2003, Hicks got his first start vs. the New York Giants. Also in 2003, on a nationally televised Monday Night Football game vs. the Miami Dolphins, Hicks more than held his own vs. Jason Taylor.
In April of 2004, Hicks signed a multi-year contract extension with the Eagles. He started at Left Guard for the 2004 season, including the Super Bowl Game in 2005 vs. the New England Patriots. In April of 2006, the Eagles traded Hicks to the Minnesota Vikings, where he started at Right Guard for the Vikings during the 2006 season.
