Arthur Altschul

Arthur Goodhart Altschul (6 April 192017 March 2002)[1] was a Goldman Sachs Group partner and banking mogul[2]who was on the Board of Trustees of many museums and philanthropic organisations, including the Whitney Museum, the United Jewish Appeal, the Overbrook Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the International Foundation for Art Research. Altschul also served as Director and Chairman of the Board of General American Investors Company.

Barnard College at its 1984 commencement ceremonies awarded Altschul its highest honor, the Barnard Medal of Distinction.

American broadcast journalist Serena Altschul is his daughter. American researcher Stephen Altschul is his son.
