Art Jimmerson was a boxer, based in St. Louis, Missouri, who competed at super middleweight, light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight.
In November 1993, Jimmerson competed at UFC 1 with a professional boxing record of 29-5. Jimmerson competed in an early mixed martial arts competition, losing to Royce Gracie while wearing only one boxing glove. His loss came by submission after being taken to the ground and tapping out in less than two minutes into the first round despite sustaining no surmountable damage nor being subdued by submission. This was his one and only MMA fight. He finished his boxing career, in 2002, with a record of 33-18.
