Jimmerson competed in an early mixed martial arts competition, losing to Royce Gracie while wearing only one boxing glove. His loss came by submission after being taken to the ground and tapping out in less than two minutes into the first round despite sustaining no surmountable damage nor being subdued by submission. This was his one and only MMA fight. He finished his boxing career, in 2002, with a record of 33-18.
