Art Eisenson

Art Eisenson is an American television writer and labor activist. His credits include the series Kojak, Eischied and The Gangster Chronicles, and mini-series Beggarman, Thief adapted from Irwin Shaw's novel. He is an instrumental plaintiff in the TV Writers Age Discrimination Class Action Lawsuits [1]. In 2005, he ran for a position on the board of the Writers Guild of America, and was one of only two candidates not belonging to a political slate.

As a senior at Columbia College of Columbia University, he was president of a briefly revived incarnation of the Philolexian Society. As a graduate student at Stanford University, he was a member of the Stanford Committee for Peace in Vietnam and later Students for a Democratic Society.
