[edit] Associated Student Body
Arroyo Seco is noted for its strong ASB, one of the best in the city. Special events during lunch are often held, along with four yearly dances, one each quarter, the last quarter is an eighth grade only dance. The ASB also provide special services to the student body, including Subway and Pick Up Stix during certain days of the week. ASB members run the Student Store along with adult volunteers. The ASB is run by teacher Shonna August.
[edit] Teams
At the end of the 06-07 school year, principal Rhondi Durand split the current teams allowing teachers to work with new students and staff. Arroyo Seco has a team-based learning system. This means that a group of students have the same teachers for all core subjects. After the update of teams, there are six 7th grade teams, a four 8th grade teams. There is also a team for learning disabled children, and those with special needs.
