Arrayán

Arrayán (plural Arrayánes) is a Spanish name for several plants from the Myrtaceae (myrtle family).
- In Spain refers to Common Myrtle (Myrtus communis), an evergreen Mediterranean shrub that is used widely in gardens, including in the famous Patio de los Arrayanes ("Court of the Myrtles") in the Alhambra.
- In Chile and Argentina, Arrayán refers to the shrub Luma apiculata, which is found in the Valdivian temperate rain forests. This plant gives its name to the Arrayanes River and Los Arrayanes National Park in Argentina.
- Arrayán is also sometimes applied to Psidium sartorianum (Sartre Guava, called guyabita del Peru in Panama and Costa Rica).
