Arpina

Arpina (Άρπινα) was an ancient city in the Ilia Prefecture, Greece.

It was a prehistoric city built next to the banks of Arpinati, a stream of Alfeios. It was part of the city state of Pisatis and at the time of Pausanias which was ruined and only featured. Its name came from a nymph Arpina daughter of Aesop and her mother Ares, Oenomaus was an inhabitant of the city.[1]
