Ariselu is a South Indian sweet dish probably from the Northern part of old Madras Presidency and present day Andhra Pradesh. Arisa or Arisalu is a Dravidian, Telugu word which means of rice. Guntur is probably the first place where Ariselu was developed.
Ariselu is a traditional dish and is prerared during festivals like Sankranti etc.

Made from rice flour, ghee and jaggery or "Bellamu"" of Telugu.

Rice flour, jaggery and ghee are mixed in equal proportions and kneaded in a similar way to poori or chapatti. The flattened rice chapatti or poori is deep-fried in oil(like poori). Decorated with gingelly or sesame seeds. Served during Ugadi, Makara Sankranti festivals in Andhra Pradesh.
