Arifwala is a town and tehsil of Pakpattan District in the Punjab province of Pakistan[1] and is located at 30°16'60N 73°4'0E[2]
It lies about 210km south east of Lahore, 33km to the south of the River Sutluj and 45km east of Sahiwal. This area is called Neely Bar also. It is situated between Sutluj and Biayas.
About 75% population live in villages and only 25% live in municipal urban area. Main occupation is agriculture Total population of Tehsil Arifwala is about 600,000.

The town of Arifwala is the headquarters of Arifwala tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the Pakpattan district. The tehsil is subdivided into 30Union Councils, the town of Arifwala contains four of these Union Councils[1].

In nineteenth century Arifwala was only a village named as chak No. 61/EB. Later, it was called Arifwala because of a landlord named "Arif" having Agriculture land in this village. In 1908, the Deputy Governor "Hurbert" founded new city of Arifwala. In 1987, Arifwala was raised to the status of sub-division.In 1995 it was attached to Pakpattan district.

The climate of the city is hot and dry. The summer season starts from April and continues till October. May, June, July & August are the hottest months. The mean maximum and minimum temperature of these months are about 45 and 32 degree Celsius respectively.

Education in this city is satisfactory. One of the biggest School of District Pakpattan is in GOVT GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL in Arifwala. In addition to that Arifwala also have three boys high schools, boys and girls college.
Among the most famous schools of Arifwala THE EDUCATORS (New Muhammadan Campus) is well known for its high standard of education.
