Talk:Area code 613

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why is 10-digit dialing being introduced in Ottawa if it is not expected to be overlayed untill 2012? 6 years just to get used to dialing 10 digits? ADAM•THE•ATOM™ 07:06, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

The only thing that legitimately needed to require ten-digit dialling would be calls to another area code (as a 613 number in Ottawa will soon be able to have the same last seven digits as an 819 number in Hull). Ten digits in Kingston, Ontario (population 116000, not a local call to anything outside 613, not a local call to most of 613) makes even less sense than the mess that has been created in Ottawa, yet this is what the telcos are inflicting upon us. Utterly useless. --carlb 03:39, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
They should have just split the thing. The City of Ottawa should have held 613, and the other counties split off to a new code (343?). CrazyC83 23:55, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Where is the central office code 832? I lived in Ottawa, and that's what I had. - Anonymous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.112.52.60 (talk) 23:43, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
