[edit] Amazon.com

Why do you object to the inclusion of Amazon's address and customer service number being included on its page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uber-boober (talkcontribs) 20:57, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

WP is an encyclopedia, not a phone book. ArcAngel (talk) 21:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

I understand that, but Amazon's address is something of note and something that is not readily available elsewhere. It is not listed on the Amazon website and a search for "amazon's address" turns up several threads on it without an answer. After spending an hour finding it out myself, wouldn't this page be a worthwhile place to include it? Plus, after further inspecting the Amazon entry, the phone number is already included in the controversies section. My bad on that, but perhaps the lack of an available address on Amazon's website would fall into the controversy category pertaining to its customer service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Uber-boober (talkcontribs) 03:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Be that as it may, Amazon's address doesn't fall within WP policy, sorry. The phone number has been removed from the section you mentioned, thank you for bringing that to my attention. ArcAngel (talk) 06:42, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SS Free TV

Thank you for reviewing the SS Free TV article suggestion, I just got a few questions, why was it rejected. Wikipedia has tons of articles on TV channels (SCI FI, Showtime, SPACE, Sky One, Sky Two, G4, etc.), so why not the SS Free's television network?--xgmx (T | C | D | R)

At this time, it's not notable enough to be added into Wikipedia. It hasn't started broadcasting yet, while the other channels you mentioned have been around for a good while, and thus have established their notability. If it manages to get off the ground and gains enough recognition (ie - notability), then it might be a candidate for inclusion. ArcAngel (talk) 14:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your response.--xgmx (T | C | D | R)

[edit] Xgmx

It's already been blocked. This user is frequently using IPs for this purpose - if it continues, we may be forced to block the entire range of IP addresses he's using. Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:48, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Robin Williams Link removed

The link to the fan site was removed before and later added again...it's already being discussed in the Talk section. The fan site adds greatly to the article, since it has a lot more up to date information. I know Wikipedia is not a collection of links, but there are not many sites out there about Robin Williams (in fact, there's only 1 fan site out there), so I don't understand why the fan site has to be removed while some useless sites are still listed (like the links to 2 interviews). Thanks for any thoughts on this. 80.56.221.55 (talk) 09:12, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Links to fan sites are seen as promoting that site, so that's why they do not meet the policy on links. As far as the "useless" links to interviews go, those links are not seen as promotion, but relevant information on the article. Also - fan sites aren't a reliable source of info, unlike a site that has industry insiders providing content to the site. ArcAngel (talk) 16:30, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
That site does receive official information from insiders and people who work directly with/for Robin Williams. Of course not ALL information comes from them. I can see why links to fan sites are seen as promotion, but when most people have visited this particular site it's always seen as a very reliable source as ONLY official information will be placed. 80.56.221.55 (talk) 22:40, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Please elaborate on what ties these accounts together. Do so at the SSP case. Thanks. RlevseTalk 23:45, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RFA Thanks

Thank you for your comments on my RFA. Even though it failed with 28 supports, 42 opposes, and 15 neutrals, I am grateful for the suggestions and advice I have received and I do hope to improve as a Wikipedian. If you ever need my help in any endeavor, feel free to drop me a line. --Sharkface217 20:11, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA...

Thank you...
...for your participation in my RFA, which closed with 85 supports, 2 neutrals and 1 oppose. I'm extremely grateful for all the the kind comments from so many brilliant Wikipedians I've come to respect and admire, as well as many others I've not yet had the pleasure of working with, and I'll do my best to put my shiny new mop and bucket to good use! Once again, thank you ;)

[edit] confusing usernames

Hi, you recently reported 29058000071733lc to Usernames for admin attention. Username policy has changed. "Usernames may no longer be blocked solely for being confusing.". No doubt that user will be rapidly blocked anyway, it seems to be mostly vandalism. Dan Beale-Cocks 15:18, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know - I don't keep on top of these things like I should. ArcAngel (talk) 15:27, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Welcome

WTF?

Well that much I understood. My failure of comprehension came from the categorisation as "Advertising or promotion" which you {automatically or otherwise} made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BoredomUnited (talkcontribs) 21:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Nah, I'm not offended. Just a tad confused. The reason it was added was not to boost popularity but due to content that could be valuable to those interested, especially a sufferer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BoredomUnited (talkcontribs) 21:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Streetcar

I'm going to go ahead and put this out for discussion on the Columbus talk page, as it is totally nonsensical not to have even one sentence regarding the proposal. It very common for city articles to mention future public transport. See Indianapolis and Cincinnati for example. Heck, there are even full articles about projects that may never get built, such as Destiny USA or ones that actually never came about such as Chicago World Trade Center. Other than blindly following the rules, you will have the opportunity to give a good reason for not including it. Don't forget about Wikipedia:Ignore all rules.--Analogue Kid (talk) 04:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Robert Gunby

As the redlink shows; Y Done. Any more problems, just let me know! Regards. Woody (talk) 21:33, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tipps

Hello. Please, can you give me some advices how I can spend more time on Wikipedia. What functions are there else than editing articles? Can I create articles too? And how can I redirect and move articles? Volkov talk 11:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] David Benatar

I added some references to David Benatar. --Eastmain (talk) 20:43, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lady Aleena's RfA

ArcAngel...Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. Through it I have become aware of a great many people who can help me in my future editing endeavors. Even though I was not promoted, your support shows that I still have something to contribute to Wikipedia, even if it is minor edits to fix spelling and grammar to working in WikiProjects to help others make great articles. If you wish to further discuss the nomination, please use its talk page. Stop by my talk page anytime, even if it is just to say hello. Have a wonderful day! - LA @ 04:16, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rock and Ice climbing club at AfD

I have added some references, both print and online, to the AfD for the Rock and Ice climbing club in an attempt to demonstrate its notability -- see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rock and Ice climbing club. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 06:11, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Benatar

Yo, if you have a minute, would you mind revising the debate about the David Benatar article? The notability claims have been developed significantly and yours is the only delete !vote holding up a speedy close. Thanks! Skomorokh 17:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Muchas gracias. Skomorokh 20:22, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
