UHD's main campus, which is housed in the former Merchants and Manufacturers Building (significantly renovated in the late 1980s), is just across the bayou at One Main Street,[2] and UHD's 95,000-square-foot Commerce Street Building, which was completed in May 2005, sits adjacent to the park at Main Street and Commerce. The "M&M" Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It originally opened for tenants in 1930—at the time the largest building in Houston—with 600,000 square feet of space.[3]
