Do we really need a table for Commander of ABDACOM when only one person ever held the position? It would be like having a "list" of Confederate Presidents. MK2 21:19, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Viscount or Earl

Header says Earl, but text says Viscount. Viceroy of India says also Viscount. Was he later promoted again? Greetings, Longbow4u 13:02, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Style issue discussion

There is a discussion going on here whether or not the first sentence of a biographical article should contain the full name of the individual and include any post nominal initials (eg. VC, KCB, OBE) or whether these should be relegated to later in the article. I have tried to point out that this is standard style and part of their full titles but there are “readability” concerns. This arose because of the Richard O’Connor featured article and one possible solution, a biobox, is now in place on that page. Please make your opinions known.Dabbler 12:17, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] There's a new biography of Wavell.

There's quite a good summary of Wavell: Soldier and Statesman by Victoria Schofield · John Murray, published in the London Review of Books: Vol. 28 No. 19 dated 5 October 2006.

[edit] The Wavell School

Wavell had a school named after him, the Wavell School in Farnborough, Hampshire, i think someone should write about that.
