Roger Livesey in the duel scene from The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp.
The image is a screenshot from the film, created by User:Jihg on 5th January 2005.
This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
[edit] Fair use in Roger Livesey
Although this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It is reduced resolution version of a screenshot from The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. The screenshot has been considerably cropped to produce a head shot of Livesey.
- It is used in the article as the primary means of visual identification of Livesey.
- It is used in the article to illustrate one of his most important film roles [1].
- It is taken from a key scene in the film [2] [3], extracts of which have often be reproduced in other media.
- No free-content image could replace the image and meet the above requirements.
