April 1, 1999
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
April 1, 1999 was an April Fool's Day. Hoaxes for this year included:
- Udo of Aachen, a 13th century monk who constructed a Mandelbrot set
- RFC 2549 - IP over Avian Carriers with Quality of Service, A RFC which amends RFC 1149, "A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers", with Quality of Service information. (RFC 1149 had been issued on the 1st April 1990 so arguably was in need of an update).
- RFC 2550 - Y10K and Beyond, A RFC to help address the oversight of the current fixes for the Y2K that will lead inevitably to a crisis in the year 10,000.
- RFC 2551 - The Rvcbcbcbcboman Standards Process -- Revision III, a RFC issued on the I April MCMXCIX and was to specify a Roman Worst Current Practices for the Roman Community with requests for discussion and suggestions for improvements.
