Aphopelma pallidum is a tarantula of the family Theraphosidae. Commonly called the rose-grey, or Mexican rose, it is a very uncommon spider. It was recently a member of the genus Brachypelma, but was moved to Aphonopelma. The adult male is brown, with a black thorax, while the female is a lighter brown, with a blonde thorax. The species is said to be long lived, like their cousins the Brachypelmas (who commonly live from 20-25 yrs). The terrestrial A. pallidum will grow up to 6 inches (15 cm).
